Let's play doubles!

"Tennis is mostly mental. Of course, you must have a lot of physical skills, but you can't play tennis well and not be a good thinker. You win or lose the match before you even go out there." - Venus Williams-

Dear DLTC members and families,

Doubles can be more fun than we think.
However if you are just used to play singles, it may need a bit of time to adjust to share your side of the court. As in singles, having a strategy will be important if you are aiming to win.

Before starting your game, It is recommended that you agree on strategies and select the side of the court from which you will be returning. Usually, it is the side you feel more comfortable with. This might sound really basic but it will be needed and probably be really helpful during the match.
Once you are playing, try avoiding conflicts, communicate all the time and support/encourage each other.

In brief, play as a team.
It is an attacking game so a good team aims at coming to the net at every opportunities to shorten the points and put their opponents under pressure.

Target their weaker shot and/or the weaker player are the most effective tactics among others.

See you all on the court for some fun doubles then.

Thanks,

Sebastien
