Seend Tennis Club is a small, friendly tennis club situated in the heart of the village on the Lye field, right next to the Community Centre. There are two well-maintained hard courts and facilities available at the Community Centre. As well as league matches in the season, we also play social tennis all year round - any members are welcome to join in.
The Committee members are volunteers. We aspire to support and grow this thriving club, which means improving facilities, increasing membership and involving our local school community.
Seend Tennis Club was established in 1924, so 2024 will be the Centenary year. We are planning to celebrate the centenary and official reopening of the courts on Friday 12th July -see website and Facebook for details, coming shortly.
Fundraising to re-surface the courts has been going on for the last 12 months, so that we can ensure that this wonderful community facility is available for us and future generations to enjoy. Work has commenced and courts are due to reopen in mid June 2024. We are still £3000 short of our target to complete works. If you would like to make a donation, please visit our Gofundme page.
