The summer league was a bright one for Slinfold’s women’s teams, with the Firsts  winning promotion to Division Six and the Second team notching its best season performance yet, finishing third in Division 12 and just three points away from promotion.

Remarkably, the women’s first team dropped just one match, and the Seconds only lost two but notched up three four-love wins.

Special thanks goes to Marina Payne who captained the Second team so well in her first year at the helm, and to Annabel Stokoe, who hands over the reins of the First team to Marina and Alison Hills.

In the men’s competition the First team managed to avoid relegation from Division 3, while the Seconds ended the season in the middle of the Division 11 and the Thirds managed to stay off the bottom of Division 12.

Special mention goes to Paul Rayner, who takes over the captaincy of the Firsts from Simon Stokoe, and to Garry Bugler, our new Treasurer, who will run the Thirds.  

All five teams are entered for the winter league and we wish them all the very best.

We will post the fixtures of the winter league on the Clubhouse noticeboard so that any member wishing to come along and cheer on their teams know where to go and when.
