Despite a couple of late withdrawals the organisers, Ann and Angela, managed to get the show promptly on the road at 11am on Sunday, 21st April.

A different match format was used for the occasion: entrants were paired and played with their partner throughout the tournament. Dividing the players into two groups provided the basis for a series of round-robin matches before moving on to a knock-out competition at the semi-final and final stages.

The winners were Marek Pugh and Jess Martin, shown below with Ann, the main tournament organiser. For Jess this was a particularly eventful day as she had just come off a night shift and had no sleep!

In hot pursuit were the runners-up, two veterans of our tennis tournaments, Chris Wilde and Helen Shelton, shown below. The Club is grateful to Ann and Angela for another very well-organised tournament.
