On Sunday, 18th December members of the Club came together to celebrate a successful year of tennis. The original plan was to hold a social tennis tournament followed by a social event. Rain put paid to the former, however, allowing members to proceed immediately to the social event and enjoy a glass of Christmas cheer, complemented by a range of canapés provided by Watkins&Faux.

The occasion was used to thank particular members and make a number of awards in acknowledgement of their contribution to the 2022 year of tennis. The picture below shows from left to right:

• Linda Swinburne (on behalf of Andy Bowbrick) for the captaincy of Mixed Team 2
• Ross McInally for the most improved man player of 2022

Unable to attend the event were Helen Shelton, captain of the Ladies Team, John Kemble, captain of Men’s Team 1, and Kathe Jin, the most improved woman player of 2022.

We look forward to 2023 and the enjoyment and challenges that tennis provides.
