Mark Clark - Coaching Bio

Mark is an accredited LTA level 3 Tennis Coach and the Head Coach at Stebbing Tennis club.
Mark started playing tennis as a teenager and quickly progressed to become a key member of the Essex County League squads for Aldersbrook LTC followed by Linkside LTC, where he played through to 1981 before he moved away and took a break from tennis.

Returning to tennis in 1995 at Redbridge LTC he soon became an integral part of the club playing both mens and mixed doubles in the Essex County League and the South West Essex League. Whilst at Redbridge he held various roles, from Match Secretary, Men’s 1st Team Captain and ultimately became Chairman of Redbridge for circa 5 years. During this period the Men’s first team
won the South West Essex Premier League title numerous years in succession and also won the Essex Cup. In 2007 he and his partner won the Essex County over 45’s men’s doubles Winter Cup.

Mark took up tennis coaching at Stebbing Tennis Club in 2017 and quickly gained his level 3 qualification and has now passed his level 4 technical play test which allows him to gain his level 4 qualification. In November 2024 Mark was appointed as Head Coach. He currently coaches a variety of players at the club, from juniors to adults, beginners to competition players, so please ask around to get feedback on his coaching skills and techniques. Mark provides one-to-one coaching for adults and children, ranging from beginners through to advanced players on all days except Sundays, and run the Club’s Squad Training sessions for those players that play in the respective club double’s teams. He also runs the Cardio Tennis sessions that run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am to 10am, together with the Ladies Social Group that runs on Thursdays 9am to 11am.

The cost of one-to-one coaching is currently £22 per hour for Stebbing Tennis Club members and £25 per hour for non-members.

Ashleigh Draper - Coaching Bio

Ashleigh is a Club Coach at Stebbing Tennis Club, and is a LTA Level 2 Accredited Tennis Instructor. She is currently undertaking her LTA Level 3 Tennis Coach qualification.

Ashleigh is responsible for running the junior section at Stebbing, but coaches both juniors and
adults. She enjoys working with players of all ages and abilities to help them improve their tennis skills. She believes playing tennis helps a child develop so many different skills, and her aim is to get as many children as possible to enjoy the sport and continue to play it as an adult.

She likes to draw on her own experiences of playing tennis as a junior. She started playing tennis at 8 years old at Bishop’s Stortford Tennis Club and Sawbridgeworth Tennis Club before moving to train at Gosling and Batchwood tennis academies. Up until the age of 11, she competed in national tennis tournaments, with a ranking of no.2 in her age category in Hertfordshire and playing for the Hertfordshire County team. She then took a short break from the sport, and returned to tennis at the age of 13, training at Bishop’s Stortford and playing for their Ladies and Mixed teams from the age of 15. She then played singles and doubles for Exeter University in the BUCs tennis league.

Ashleigh currently plays for the Ladies 1st Team and Mixed 1st Team at Stebbing Tennis Club and for the Ladies 1st Team and Mixed 1st Team at Bishop’s Stortford Tennis Club.
