Captain's Report 2021, Ladies A Team

It was great to get back to playing competitive tennis this year in the Ladies Premier 2 Division.
Whilst it wasn't a full compliment of teams, 2 clubs decided not to compete this year, it was still a very competitive & hard fought season resulting in Stone A team winning the league by 4 points. There was no promotion or demotion this year for any of the leagues, instead the league winners receive a cash prize of £100, we can look forward to putting this to good use when we receive it.

STONE LADIES B TEAM – REPORT 2021
Congratulations to our Ladies B Team who disappointingly just lost out on a first-place win by 1 point to Leek in the Ladies North Division. We played 10 matches, winning 8 convincingly, drawing 1 and losing 1, a very tight call. It’s our turn for a win next year ladies! Thank you to Annette Tatler, Carol Bradley, Ernie Whitehouse, Henriette Robinson, Justine Dart, Karen Tidswell, Louise Alston, Radka Weaver, Sue Blakshaw and Yvonne Banks for not just playing well, but for also stepping up to the mark and changing plans last minute if required, so we could still send out a team when other players were injured, sick or having to self-isolate. a BIG Thank you. It is so nice to see so many new ladies playing on Monday nights but also join us all on club nights. It might now be time to consider once again having a lady’s C team represent the club next year.
