About Val 

Welfare Officer My role as Welfare Officer is to promote this message and work with the Committee – and with all of you as members – to make sure we try to achieve this at all times, for all who are currently involved with the Club, and also those who might be encouraged to become involved in the future.

Who am I? I took up tennis as an ‘adult beginner’ in c2014 and have enjoyed attending classes ever since. (I’m definitely among the longest-serving members of the Adult classes!) Some may know or recognise me from when I was a swimming teacher locally, in which role the care, safety and enjoyment of the children and young people I was teaching was always paramount. On the work front, I recently started a strategic role, with Aberdeen Health & Social Care Partnership, which is focused significantly on preventing and responding to harm experienced by vulnerable adults.
