Updated Safeguarding policies and Codes of Conduct
John and Laura met with Tennis Scotland's Safeguarding Lead Mat Hulbert in the spring, to support the club in complying with the LTA latest minimum standards and best practice. Mat's report was generally favourable, with only a few action points identified. All of the policies have been reviewed against latest guidance and a dedicated Safeguarding page has been added to our website.
All members and others involved in the club should familiarise themselves with the new Codes of Conduct for coaches/volunteers, for children playing at the club and for their parents. In short, everyone using the club should know and respect the code.
More detailed policies have also been adopted, including:
- Safeguarding Policy (Child Protection, Codes of Conduct)
- Diversity and Inclusion Policy
- Supervision of Children Policy
- Use of changing rooms and toilets
Clubhouse improvement plan
The committee recently agreed some improvements to tidy and refurnish the clubhouse, albeit in small steps. A lot of clutter has been removed already from under the clubhouse and from the gents' and ladies' changing areas. We'll be getting more practical tables and looking at better storage for the coaching equipment.
