Happy New Year to all members - Hope you are ready for a year of social and competitive racket sports. 

Safeguarding Audit 

Safeguarding policies have been updated and are available on the website 

Jan McAdie our safeguarding and welfare Officer now has a designated email address for any safeguarding concerns .

Members who wish to raise a matter of concern may do so knowing that Jen will deal with it sensitively, confidentially, discreetly and with honesty of purpose

Maintenance 

The Roof of the Evolve building was in urgent need of repair and this was completed by Vaughan Roofers over the New Year period. 

Parking - Future information 

Pressure will be mounting on our parking spaces as the University Pavillion demolition begins and there are plans for pay and display in the 2 lower carparks in the future. We will be looking at possible options and anyone interested in getting involved please contact any of the committee.

Tennis Wales 2026 Awards

New Tennis Committee was  formed in January to represent tennis going forward 

Each person will represent a specific area and we will welcome further participation for specific events and projects. Further details to follow.  EL

Squash 

Welsh Juniors Closed  Congratulations to Our Players at the Welsh Junior Closed! 

A huge well done to all our players who competed at the Welsh Junior Closed with some fantastic results:

 

• Tito – 1st place, U13 Champion

• Noah – 5th place, U17

• Will – 5th place, U11

• Hugo – 7th place, U11

An excellent set of performances showing real commitment, skill, and determination. We’re incredibly proud of you all—keep up the great work! BJH

1 Day Graded Tournament 3rd Jan 

Successful  tournament day when the club welcomed over 40 squash players to compete in a friendly but competitive environment.

March 7th Junior Development Tournament  - Ranked by ability not age - Congratulations to all who have made it happen. 

1 day Graded. 11th April

Welsh Squash Masters 

Congratulations to 3 Club members who reached the finals of their respective age groups (Phil played a category younger so more impressive!). Phil Monahagan, Steve Colarusso  and Gemma Davies, back to form within 6 months of the arrival of baby Noa.

All 3 have automatic selection of MHI 2026 - Good Luck! 

Padel Update: Your Voice, Your Club! 

Members will have received an email regarding the official ballot for our Padel and facility development proposals. This is a significant milestone for ST&SC, and we need your input. Whether you are a regular on the courts or a social member, the Board wants to hear from you—this is your club, and your preferences will help shape our future direction.

Action Required:

  • Check your inbox: The email will contain the full proposal and voting instructions.
  • Respond by: 5:00 pm on 12 February.
  • Support the Club: Please take five minutes to provide your input.
