December newsletter: The Over 30s win again

Curry Cup
Twenty players competed in the Prem Curry Cup on Saturday 17th December, with the Over 30s beating the Under 30s by 22 points to 8.

It was a great evening's tennis (continuing with the social drinks afterwards) and the standard in both teams was extremely high. The Oldies are undefeated in 2016, winning all three competitions. Can the Youngsters finally prevail in 2017?

Improvers tournament
The last Improvers session of the year was a fun Christmas tournament, with all participants wearing Christmas clobber – including Kim Motts' sprout necklace (see picture attached).

Maki Kondo won the ladies tournament and Chris Timms won the men's. Special mention goes to Sue Neale for organising the mince pies and mulled wine.

Midweek Christmas drinks
The midweek members held a Christmas Drinks and Canapés Party on the 8th December, which was well attended and a great success. Profits were donated to the Princess Alice Hospice.
