Doncaster Council is proud to have an award winning community tennis programme that makes tennis available to everyone who wants to play.

The programme is based at Hexthorpe Park and is lead by Emmanuel Findoro-Obassi, and provides free sessions for children and adults on Saturday mornings throughout the year.

Barclays Free Parks Tennis takes place at 10am on Saturday's at Hexthorpe. This sessions offer fun, social tennis at the park. Sessions are free for all juniors and adults, running for one hour every Saturday by a team of trained volunteers. Book on weekly at Barclays Free Parks Tennis. Sessions are due to start at Haslam Park in Spring 2025.

Interested in becoming a Parks Activator? If you'd like to volunteer to support the delivery of Free Parks Tennis, then please complete the Activator Form and you can complete the online training and start helping to deliver. 

The Doncaster Community Tennis Programme was officially recognised by the LTA in 2023, winning both the Yorkshire and North of England Connecting Communities awards, and was in the top 3 nationally. We will continue to strive to grow the programme and take tennis to a new audience.
