Camp Frequently Asked Questions
Parents FAQs
Who can come to the camps?
Any child aged 5-15 years can attend the camp. For those players who wish to participate in matches and competitions it is recommended you attend for the whole day until 3pm.
How are the groups split?
From day one, the children are continually assessed on ability and age to guarantee they are in the right groups. Therefore they will receive the correct level of tuition to improve their skills. If however your child feels their group is wrong, please contact the head coach. We will look at each case individually and try to accommodate where possible.
Who are the staff?
As mentioned on the introduction page, all of our staff are either involved in the tennis coaching on a full-time or part-time basis and are qualified to teach all standards. They are our strongest asset and along with the various venues are able to offer a superb environment for your child to have a great summer tennis experience.
As with all LTA coaches, they are regularly checked by the Criminal Records Bureau to ensure that they are safe to work with children. There will be a number of assistant coaches who have worked with us on numerous occasions and fully understand the programme. The coaches are all first aid trained in case of any accidents, however, please inform us of any allergies or medical conditions relevant to your child.
What should my child bring and wear?
Please bring enough food and drink for the day. All sites have access to extra drinks but not food. Toilet facilites are all on site. Please ensure suitable sports clothing is worn and pack a spare t-shirt / jumper in-case of extreme weather. Please make sure your child has enough sun protection cream applied before they arrive at camp and let us know if you are happy for us to apply more if necessary. Some camps have a tuck shop and therefore you might want your child to bring some pocket money for a little snack.
What happens if the weather is bad?
All venues have a safe indoor area with toilet and changing facilities. No event will be cancelled, however, if the management feel value for money has not been achieved, refunds or the the offer of alternative dates will be offered.
What payment options do you have?
