The LTA has partnered with Stonewall to support the charity’s Rainbow Laces campaign, with a commitment to help make sport everyone’s game.
Today marks ‘Rainbow Laces Day’, the annual central focus of the ground-breaking campaign which champions LGBT+ equality in sport.
We are supporting the campaign as part of our efforts to promote inclusion and diversity within tennis and ensure the sport provides a welcoming environment for everyone, whether they are a player, coach, official, fan or volunteer. Our work to grow the sport in Britain is built around opening up tennis to many more people, and so we are passionate that tennis should be a sport that is for anyone.
The Rainbow Laces campaign will see a whole range of organisations and individuals from across sport and beyond come together to support the cause. Thousands of people, from fans to players, are wearing rainbow laces to ensure LGBT+ people feel welcome and included.
We all know sport has an amazing power to bring people together. From tennis fans to regular players at clubs and parks across the country, tennis can generate community and a sense of belonging. As the national governing body for tennis, that’s why we are playing our part by joining the Rainbow Laces campaign – show your support and join us to help make sport everyone’s game.
