Competitions
Tennis is seen as an individual sport, which, for many beginner players, can be intimidating when they are standing on the tennis court, on their own, in a competitive match.
Tom Cole Tennis Services as part of Tennis Squad, organises and runs matchplay events and tournaments within the Vale of Glamorgan which are targeted at beginner to club standard, ranging from Red to Yellow ball, and offer the chance for all players to compete in a fun and sociable environment.
As well as the bursting sense of achievement and pride that playing a tennis match can offer, competition generates countless opportunities for young players and provides essential life skills which include:
- confidence
- problem solving and dealing with pressure
- adapting to responsibility
- independence
We run regular Grade 6-7 tournaments and if you are just starting to compete (or even if you have competed before), these competitions offer a great opportunity to gain some competitive experience in a local environment. Competitions in this grade are usually match-plays which are open to all players, members and non members of TennisSquad, to enter. They are run throughout the year within the Vale of Glamorgan and offer players in all age groups the chance to develop their competitive tennis, practice what they've been taught and improve their rating.
