Senior Tennis Intern

After successfully completing your first year as a junior intern you will be invited to step up to the Senior Intern role. You will have an opportunity to further develop your skills and experience from previous areas of work, or opt to branch out to explore new challenges.

You will be sponsored by the University to complete your LTA Level 2 Coach Assistant Qualification: https://www.lta.org.uk/workforce-venues/coach-teach/tennis-coach-qualifications/, acquiring skills to be able to deliver on the University of Stirling development programme. You will be working alongside and supported by our team of experienced University of Stirling tennis coaches.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to tailor your plans, working with your mentor to select areas of work that are of particular interest to you.

Competitions and Event Management: Gain valuable experience with our governing body by running competitive events, and events focused on getting more people playing the game.

Refereeing and officiating: Junior and Senior events

Communications: Helping the tennis community effectively share the work that is going on at the University, raising the awareness of University teams, players, programme and events.

Leadership skills: Support the new junior interns and act as a role model.

The programmes running at the University range from LTA Youth tennis programmes, the University student tennis programme, International Sports Scholarship Programme, one of two LTA National Academies.

This really is a fantastic opportunity to learn from some the world’s top coaches; to refine your skills and make a difference. The programme will be shaped around your interests so a key part of this programme is discussing with your mentor the way the senior intern role should develop.
