For this match the only problem was the heat may have been too much for the players but luckily Wadebridge had a lovely breeze to help keep us cool but not too strong to affect the ball during game play. The team for this match was Nick, Chris, Luke and Mike. With Nick and Chris being the A pair and Luke and Mike being the B pair.

Nick and Chris got out to a slow start whilst trying to see the ball in the sun and get use to the opponent’s way of playing but after a long first set with many good rallies and both teams taking the lead multiple times through the set Veryan came out on top with a 6-4 victory. After finding their momentum they just kept sailing through and managed to pick up the next set easier with the final score being 6-2. In their second match they went out in a flying start and quickly wrapped up the first set 6-1 but Wadebridge fought back in the second set and near the end Wadebridge was in the lead 5-4 but with Nick to serve they managed to gain momentum and won the next three games and close out the second set 7-5.

Luke and Mike started of their first match in spectacular fashion with playing lovely ground shots they swept their way through the first set and won 6-0 and the second set went the same with them only dropping one game to win the second set 6-1. Their second match went completely wrong though with them struggling to hit the ball back they quickly lost both sets 6-1, 6-2. They were blaming being out in the sun too long for their play in that match.

Afterwards there was some lovely refreshments in the coolness of the club house to help everyone relax after a tiring game and Veryan walks away with another win of 8-2 that should put them in second place with three games remaining.
