Rules for Court Booking

Rules:

1. Three courts are available for Club use at all times and must be booked. Booking is online via the ClubSpark module attached to our web site or the Booker app.  Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance. A maximum of 1.5 hours is permitted at a time, with no bookings during Mix-In sessions, or events such as tournaments, or league matches.

2. Court No.1, on the left, is available for Pay-and-Play use, and managed by Wadhurst Parish Council. Hirers are provided with a voucher purchased at Uplands Sports Centre. Club members may use this court when it's free but must relinquish it immediately to voucher holding pay-and-players. Court No. 1 can be reserved by WTC on a limited basis for use in conjunction with coaching, matches and tournaments.

3. Court No. 1 is reserved for Mix-In use on Saturday 2- 4:30pm.

4. Failure to renew membership within two weeks of the renewal date (1st April) will result in the lapsed member's key fob being de-activated and, upon its return to the Club within three months, the deposit will be paid back.

5. Members may invite guests to play at Mix-In Sessions and events on a one-off basis. No guest visitors may play on more than three occasions in a year. Local visitors may also play up to three trial sessions with a view to applying for full membership. The Club depends on members to honour this system and reserves the right to charge a fee.

6. WTC is affiliated to the LTA which provides civil liability insurance cover. This is compulsory for all members and the fee is included in the annual subscription.

On the court

1. Please wear sports clothing when playing (there is no 'all whites' rule).

Only tennis shoes or trainers are permitted as footwear (to avoid damage to the court surface and reduce the risk of injury.)

2. To keep the courts and Clubroom useable, clean and pleasant, put rubbish in a litter bin. No chewing gum or food is permitted on court. No smoking on court or in the Clubroom.

3. Do not take chairs, bikes etc. on court.

4. Keep the gate shut at all times to stop animals and cyclists entering (no dogs are allowed in the Recreation Ground).

5. Keep the door to the Clubroom/changing room locked to avoid vandalism and theft of equipment (the access control system records who has used the facility).

6. Tennis nets are left up - do not put any extra strain on the nets otherwise the posts will start to lean inwards.

7. While flooding and heavy rain should not be a problem, frozen or icy courts must not be played upon as there is increased likelihood of damage to plastic fibres at low temperatures, as well as risk of serious personal injury. Members are asked to report any damage to courts, nets or fencing immediately to any committee member.

8. Bring your own tennis balls. Balls are provided for Mix-In, however, they are expensive and care must be taken in retrieving any balls that are hit out of court.

The Club's full constitution and rules are available from the Secretary and are displayed on the notice board.
