The weather is looking good so we're going to sizzle away our election evening with a BBQ at the usual Thursday mix-in (4th July). Eat about 8pm. £4 per person. Bar open , cards only please.

FLOODLIGHTS - GREAT NEWS!

We were awarded and have now received the grant from Heart of England Community Foundation Inclusive Fund to convert our floodlights to more efficient LED lights. We have awarded the contract from 3 competitive bids to DACA who specialise in this type of work. They have visited the club and are proposing commencing work the week commencing 26th August. Only one court will be out of action at any one time and weather permitting should be completed by 2nd September.

This is a great opportunity for the club to develop our facilities and to contain our energy bills. I would like to give a special thanks to Chrissie and Gareth who successfully submitted the bid and worked to award the contract.

2024-25 SUBSCRIPTIONS

A reminder to all members that annual subscriptions for the 2024-25 year are due on 1st June. Please try and pay before then so your membership and court booking access continues uninterrupted. There is a small £5 increase per senior member this year. Junior rates remain the same. The new rates can be found on our membership pages. Note that members who pay monthly by direct debit do not have to do anything, as the new rates will be applied automatically from 1st June.

TENNIS LEAGUE 2024 SEASON UPDATE

The new season is nearly here, so we have an update on what’s happening this year.

We have entered an extra ladies team in the Staffordshire league and a mixed team in the Burton league. With 7 teams in total there’s plenty of opportunities to play competitive tennis. If you’re interested in playing and not already on our radar please let Rob Challinor know and he'll put you in touch with the relevant team captain.

Match fees are £3 each per match.

Mens and ladies nights will revert back to Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively from 2nd and 3rd April.

STAFFS TENNIS LEAGUE UPDATES

An update on preparations for the new season in the Staffordshire Tennis League.

Unfortunately Zoe has had to step down as ladies B team captain for this season. Kirsty Marshall will be taking on the role effective immediately.

We have entered a ladies C team this year which will be captained by Diana Montague.

Good luck to both in their new roles.

Team practice for all teams remains on a Tuesday evening from 18:00. We will revert to Tuesdays for men and Wednesdays for ladies in March. The exact date will be confirmed nearer the time.
