SAFEGUARDING AND WELFARE OFFICER/S 2024 - LTA REQUIREMENT

It is pleasing to report that our Welfare Officer is Elaine Spiller and as recommended by the Regional Safeguarding and Welfare Officer, we have appointed a new Deputy Welfare Officer - Judith Moks. Both will be working alongside the Committee.

USE OF COURTS

Courts can be booked with the usual 15 day advance period. If you book a court but are unable to play at that time, please ensure you cancel your booking to enable others to book and use it.

CLUB SESSIONS - SUMMER TIMETABLE COMMENCES 29 MARCH 2024

Open to all adult members, the Spring-Summer timetable will start from 29 March 2024 and run until 27 October 2024.   The new timetable is as follows:-

Tuesday Morning - 9.00am - 12.30pm

Wednesday Morning - 10.00am - 1.00pm

Wednesday Afternoon - 4.00pm - 7.00pm

Saturday Afternoon - 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Participating players should provide the balls for these sessions on an equitable basis. If you intend to regularly play at these sessions, please be prepared to occasionally come with a set of good quality tennis balls.

TEAM PRACTICE AND TRAINING WITH ROB HUTCHINSON

These voluntary sessions are open to all members who have expressed an interest to play in any of the Teams this year. Dates of these sessions will be communicated shortly.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS AND PLATE COMPETITIONS 2024

This year, and by popular demand, we are continuing the format of last years' Championships/Plate Competitions in the doubles matches by pairing a non-seeded player with a seeded player, which proved to be a successful and an enjoyable combination.

Rob Hutchinson, with assistance, will be running these Championships. The seeding of players will be the responsibility of our coach Phil Wylie for transparency.

These Championships and Plate Competitions will start earlier this year with a deadline for entry being 15 April 2024, with the first rounds being played in April/May. All rounds must be played within the time limits to avoid disqualification.

Please note that if you are unavailable for the Championship weekend of 14 and 15 September 2024 (weather permitting), please refrain from entering these competitions.

Members wishing to play should add their name to the entry lists which will be located in the clubhouse.

  CLUBHOUSE AND GATE SECURITY REQUEST

  Due to a recent lapse in security which was recently reported to the Committee, can we politely ask that members ensure that the Clubhouse is locked, all appliances are switched off and the padlock numbers scrambled before vacating Club premises. We appreciate your assistance with this safety request.

   

  HUMMERSKNOTT BADMINTON CLUB QUIZ NIGHT - TOWN HALL, RICHMOND - 12 APRIL 2024 AT 7.00PM IN AID OF BLOOD CANCER UK -

  This event is being staged to raise money for Blood Cancer Uk in memory of one of our former members, Alistair MacRae. Tickets are £10 per head to include a pie and pea supper. If you are interested in this event,
