Court Access
PLEASE NOTE – you must type in the *(asterisk) before the numbers in the code for the gate. The code will not work otherwise.
The gate will only open at the time of booking so please do not attempt to access the court at times other than your booking time.
Please be aware the Council may need to close the courts at short notice between May 2024 and April 2025 if the outside temperature reaches levels which may result in damage to the courts.
Introduction
Northam Town District Council have worked in partnership with the LTA to invest in and refurbish the public park tennis courts at Westward Ho! Park.
Three of the original four courts have been renovated with investment of over £130,000, helping to ensure that high quality facilities are available for the local community.
Annual Passes and casual pay-to-play bookings bookings are available - see below for details. The Annual Passes will be open for sale from the 2nd May 2024.
The project is part of a nationwide investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to refurbish public tennis courts across Great Britain, and open up the sport to many more people. Click here for more information.
Park tennis courts are vital in providing opportunities for children and adults to get active, delivering significant physical and mental health and wellbeing benefits to participants. Accessible facilities in parks are particularly critical to opening up the sport to those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and women and girls.
Online Booking and Purchasing an Annual Pass
We have an online booking system to allow people to register and book courts online.
You can Pay & Play for £5 per hour or purchase an Annual Pass for £35.
The Council is seeking partners to offer coaching sessions. Once in place, this will help Northam Town Council to offer a complete and varied coaching timetable.
