Winter League
Wetherby Tennis Club run their own Winter League for clubs in the area that may not have floodlights and who are keen to keep their competitive tennis going even during the depths of winter.
Mike Triffitt has taken over the running from Ian Teasdale who ran this very successful league for 6 years and we start our 13th term this winter . We are running two Divisions with five teams in Division 1 and six in the second tier. Division One winners will be the Winter League Champions with the team finishing bottom replaced by the Division Two winners the following season.

The title will be decided on a head to head record if two teams are on the same match points whilst if three or more teams are tied, a mini league of results involving those clubs will determine the champions!

Tuesdays ,Thursdays and Fridays 6.30 – 9.30pm Oct -March
Cost
£20 per team per match. New balls supplied,clubhouse opened,fees collected,floodlights on/off,supply scoresheet.A Wetherby member will try be around to Open/close clubhouse and collect completed scoresheet. However this year we may ask clubs to carry out those tasks . We have a spare key outside the clubhouse door and provision to leave match fees.

Four mixed,One mens,One ladies each of 12 games in any order.
Results
The match winner being the team with the most games won of the 72 played or of the completed rounds of 48 or 24 (minimum).

Well done Dave Rowlands, Charlotte Mannall, captain Dawn Steel, Ollie Steel, Laura Delafield and Jack Medcalf who played crucial roles helping Wetherby 2 lift the 2024/25 Division Two Winter League title.
Dawn Steel also helped the First team lift the Division One Winter League crown as needing to win their final match the team defeated Boston Spa 55-17. Thanks to Fraser Cummings , captain Emma Abel and Andy Jones for contributing to this success.
