FAQ

When are the courts open?

Every day from 8am until dusk (courts close in line with daylight hours). Please note some courts may be booked for coaching activities or events.

 

Do I have to be a Woking resident to register and play?

No, everyone is welcome.

 

How do I become a member?

Please visit our Membership page - payment is made online and costs just £39 for a year for a household of up to 5 people.

 

I only want to play once or twice, what can I do?

Annual memberships offer unbeatable value but if you want to just pay and play for a single session that’s fine too.

Simply register, book and pay for your court. Enter the access code detailed on your confirmation email at the gate.

 

Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?

You will receive a booking confirmation containing a 4-digit PIN. Enter this into the keypad at the gate (the PIN will be active 10 minutes before the booked session, throughout the booked session and then until 5 minutes after the booked session has ended).

 

What do I do if my PIN doesn't work?

Please double check that you are trying to use your PIN within the timeframe that the PIN is active (please see section above). If you are, please call the telephone number that is on your booking confirmation during office hours 01483755855 and you will be provided with an alternative PIN for that booking. Out of hours, please call 03300 539 395.

 

Is coaching available?

Yes, please refer to our Coaching page for more information.

 

Can I make a booking for coaching purposes?

Only coaches appointed by Woking Borough Council are authorised to deliver coaching activities on the courts. If you are interested in receiving coaching services, please visit the coaching page.

 

Can I hire equipment?

Unfortunately we do not offer that facility, however you can hire tennis equipment from Freedom Leisure at Woking Pool in the Park.

 

How do I cancel a pay and play booking?

You can cancel your booking online up to 24 hours in advance. If you cancel after this time you will not receive a refund for your booking. If you have any problems with this, please give us a call on 01483755855 during office hours (Mon- Fri 9am-4:45pm). Out of courtesy please cancel as soon as you know so others can play.

 

How do I cancel a Household Membership booking?

If I see damage to the courts or anti-social behaviour who should I tell?

If you notice the courts are damaged or unsafe please contact us on 01483755855 so we can investigate and arrange repairs.

 

If you witness anti-social behaviour on courts from users that is not in keeping with those set out in the terms and conditions, please also report this on the number above so users can be addressed and appropriate action taken.

If you have a problem with anti-social behaviour outside office hours then please call 101.

How does household membership work?

You only need one membership per household that any of you can use to access the courts.

 

How do I add members of my household to my account?

Go to your account, select “member info” and click “add member”, then enter their name/email address. If you have any problems give us a call during office hours (Mon- Fri 9am-4:45pm) on 01483755855, and we can offer you support with this process.

 

Once I become a member do I still have to pay court fees?

No, all court fees are included once you have your household membership.

 

Once I become a member do I still have to book the courts that I want to use?

Yes, you will still need to book the tennis courts using the online booking system to ensure they are available.

 

If I have purchased an annual membership, am I tied into a long-term contract?

No, you initially pay for a year’s membership and if you want to carry on using the courts after that, you can pay for each year's renewal as you go.

 

When does my membership start?

Your membership will be activated when you register your email address and create a password for a booking account online.

 

What happens if I purchase a membership half way through the year? Do I pay a reduced fee?

No, there is no reduced fee. You will always receive a full year from the date you activate your account.

 

Can I get a refund if I want to cancel my membership part way through the year?

No, once you have joined and paid for your membership this will last a year and not be part refunded for any reason.
