Welcome to Woodfield Tennis Club

Membership renewals due by 31st March 2024.

Do I need to book a court?

Yes! Once you are a member you will need to create a Club Spark LTA account, whether online or via their APP.

To avoid any disappointment, we strongly advise you not to just turn up and play. Using the Club Spark booking system, you'll be able to check beforehand whether there are any league matches or internal tournaments or competitions taking place but generally this shouldn't be an issue.

Mix-in Sessions

  • Sundays from 10.00am
  • Wednesdays from 6.00pm

Can I bring along non-members?

Non-members can come along to up to two mix-in sessions before deciding whether to join. To bring a non-member for a game at any other time a guest fee of £5/visit applies. If there are members already on the courts then they would take preference over non-members.

Are there any competitions I can play in?

Club competitions take place throughout both the summer and winter.  We run doubles tournaments throughout the year and in the summer we organise a Singles League which is split into groups of equal ability to encourage fun but competitive matches! Additionally each summer we run our club championships which are again a mixture of Singles and Doubles events.

What about league tennis?

We currently have four men's teams in the Staffordshire league and one mixed team playing in the Kidderminster & District Tennis League.

We play various fixtures both home and away throughout the summer. We will consider anyone for the team, just come down and play and show you are interested!

Last few bits…

The Section has very few rules and those we do have are primarily designed to protect the playing surface. Thus we ask people to wear non-marking trainers. Please be careful not to spill food or drinks on the court. Do not take footballs or bikes onto the courts. The courts have a combination lock and the code is changed regularly.  We ask members to not pass this onto non-members.

The tennis courts really are an excellent resource and so we endeavour to look after them.

We hope to see you at the club soon so we can give you a warm welcome!

About us

Who are we and what facilities do we have?

Woodfield Tennis Section have 4 floodlit tennis courts and aim to cater for players of all ages and ability, whilst trying to achieve a good quality of play. The philosophy of the club is for informality and fun and to encourage as many people as possible to play and improve their game. Based at Woodfield Social and Sports Club, we have 4 excellent floodlit artificial grass courts and use of the bar (with a pool table, snooker tables, darts and Sky TV) to help us recover afterwards.

How do I get involved?

If you are new to the area or haven’t played tennis for many years then why not turn up on a Wednesday evening at 6.00pm for a mix-in night? We do our best to be friendly and welcoming and you are welcome to pop along twice for free before deciding whether you want to join our club or not. We typically play doubles tennis on the Wednesday night, but there are often singles games taking place too. If you want to chat before you pop along then give any of the committee a call.  We will be pleased to speak to you.

Richard Luckett is on 07875 584218 (richardluckett@hotmail.com), Tim Boland 07966 177902 (tim.boland@hotmail.co.uk), We would love to hear from you.
