Hanbury Lawn Tennis Club

Founded in 1936 Hanbury is a small friendly club based in Wolverhampton. We welcome all ages and abilities, so please do contact us even if you've never played tennis before.

In the late 1990s we were fortunate enough to be granted around £170,000 from the National Lottery Sports Council Fund. This enabled us to build a new clubhouse and two artificial grass courts to replace the previous wooden building and shale courts. The new facilities were officially opened on 6th May 2000 by Ann Jones MBE, former Wimbledon Ladies Singles Winner.

Team Tennis

We currently have one men's team and one ladies team playing in the South Staffordshire League, and one mixed doubles team playing in the Kidderminster & District League.

Social Tennis

We have men's nights, ladies nights, mixed mix-ins and a number of social tournaments throughout the year, in addition to our Club Championships which are held in September.

Coaching

Regular junior group coaching sessions take place throughout the year. Individual junior and adult coaching is available on request via our club coach.

Social Events

Various social events are held throughout the year for members, and their families and friends.
