The committee
Chairman Jos Medinger jos@internetology.co.uk
I have been a tennis player since childhood and a member of Wrexham LTC for over 20 years, representing them in club, league matches and a variety of other capacities. I have recently become chairman and am excited about helping WLTC to continue to grow and for tennis to thrive in all capacities.
Vice Chairman Mark Benton mbenton27@icloud.com
I have loved tennis since my school days, when I first picked up a racket and discovered a sport that would stay with me for life. Following retirement, I was delighted to find my way back to Wrexham Lawn Tennis Club as a member, reconnecting not only with the sport but also with old friends and new and the wonderful sense of community it brings.
The club’s social side is just as important to me as the tennis itself. From friendly matches and club sessions to social events off the court, I value the friendships and camaraderie that make the club such a special place.
Now, as a committee member and Vice Chair, I am proud to give back to the club by supporting its continued growth for current and future members.
Membership Secretary Meriadoc Lawes mlawes@gmail.com
I have been a committee member for several years and have recently taken on the role of membership secretary. I am also responsible for collecting any used balls which we recycle for funds for the club.
Secretary Matthew Halliday matthew.halliday@gmail.com
Father, husband, tennis lover and recent addition to WLTC committee. In free time I enjoy tech, travel and watching or playing sports.
Other Committee Members
Tcherina Vaughan Griffiths
I am a lover of all things tennis and have been an LTA official for 18 months. I was on the North Wales Committee for 6 years with my aim being to open up tennis for all. I have joined the Wrexham Lawn Tennis Club committee as I want to help grow the clun and make it a safe, enjoyable place for everyone.
Andy Cree
One of the club's veterans. You will see me on the courts most days. I have been encouraging our senior members to take part in the many tournaments available. I'm pleased to say that numbers have been steadily growing.
Kara Beth Davies
Tennis has always been a huge part of my life and I've been playing at Wrexham Lawn Tennis Club since I was a junior. I have a background in marketing and journalism, as well as a first class arts degree, which I'll be using to share our stories far and wide.
