SUMMER SEASON 2026

The SUMMER SEASON 2026 officially begins Saturday 25th April

NEW SCORING SYSTEM

  • Each team gets one point for each set won.
  • The winning team gets two bonus points for winning – or one bonus point each for drawing.

We have tested the new point system and it works, however there may be teething problems so please let us know if you spot anything.

Please see the CAPTAINS GUIDE for any unusual scores, for example, Walkovers.  These will be scored as 6 points for the winning team.  The software will automatically award 10 points so we will adjust these manually. Hopefully we will not have any walkovers!

CAPTAINS UPDATES

A PLEA!

We are always happy to help but please check out the CAPTAINS GUIDE first which should guide you through any process.

Player Eligibility: We have had several incidences over the winter season of players being ineligible for the matches that they played in.  This was mainly due to contravention of RULES 22 & 23 regarding a players "usual" team.  Please make sure you have read and understood all rules.  This is the responsibility of every captain and fixtures secretary.

To check a players "usual" team, we look at which team a player has played in during the current and previous seasons.  If you have a player who is switching club teams, please contact us.  No player should be playing for more than one team.  They can play up once in a higher team.  We discourage anyone playing down at all as this is unsporting.

Fixtures:  The date on the LTA site stands.  It is up to both captains to check the dates.  The home captain should contact the oppostion captain a few days/ a week before the match to confirm the match and offer refreshments.  If you haven't heard anything as the away captain, please follow this up.

Walkovers:  As most divisions are only 7 teams, which means just six matches across the summer season, we hope that there will be very few, if any, walkovers and that captains can be as flexible as possible, especially earlier in the season. If you are unsure what to do if asked for a postponement, please do email us as we can take a broader view of the whole league to try and maintain consistency.  A reminder that, in the summer season, a team can only concede one walkover: please see RULE 28

Vets League

We are pleased to say that there are now two Vets Divisions. Please note the following from RULE 19

If a club has more than one team in the Vets competition, no player can play down into division 2. If the club has two teams in the same division, players can only play for one team and cannot play up or down.

Rule 19 also states that no one who plays in division 1 of any league is eligible for the Vets competition.

Knockout Cup

This competition has separate rules. Please make sure you have read all of these and let us know if you have any questions.

Unknown Players

No one should be playing in a match as an "unknown player". Please check that all your team has affiliated to the club before they play. It is good practice for clubs to ask all members to do this on joining. In that way they are also eligible for the LTA Advantage Wimbledon ballot. If someone thinks they have had an LTA account before, maybe at another club, they should NOT sign up again but rather use the forgotten username/ password procedure.

ADTL TROPHY PRESENTATION EVENING

This was held last Friday and was a great success. Please see under ADTL EVENTS for all the photos. There are a few on the Welcome page of the website also.
