Coronavirus Update - Doubles Tennis Play

Tennis Courts available for Doubles play

Following Government and LTA advice the Committee are delighted to announce that from Monday 1st June the tennis courts will be available for doubles play with people from outside your household as long as you remain 2 metres apart as far as possible.
The same restricted rules for use of the courts as we announced earlier still apply and all bookings must be made via our new online booking system for the tennis courts. A reminder of the rules are given below.

STRICTLY, NO COURT BOOKING - NO PLAY
For the moment only Members of the club will be allowed to use the courts (guests or non members will not be allowed). Members will only be allowed to use the courts if they book via our new court booking system (this will reduce the risks of members standing around waiting for a court and enable us to maintain social distancing). The court booking system is on our website alsagertennis.co.uk. To book a court you need to be registered with LTA / Clubspark and logged in, you can register with Clubspark online the first time you try to book a court from the 'Court Bookings' page on the website. Once you have done so you can also use the Clubspark Booker App to book a court. This App can be downloaded onto your mobile phone (iOS and Android phones).
In order to maintain social distancing any Members should be asked to leave the premises if they are not playing. No spectating or waiting for courts is permitted. This will need to be a self policing policy and non compliance will inevitably result in Closure of the Courts.
Further information on how to use the booking system is available on our website alsagertennis.co.uk. I would like to encourage all our members to register on the web site as soon as possible. Members with problems booking on the Clubspark Website should contact Jason ‪07881650677‬ or Mark ‪07999442965‬ who will be happy to help and book court time during this transitional period. I have tried the system myself and it is very simple to use, especially if you also download the mobile app.
During this phase of reopening the courts unfortunately we still will not be able to safely open the Clubhouse, so no toilet facilities will be available. As we have no access to the clubhouse members will have to provide their own tennis balls and we would advice members to mark their tennis balls with a felt tipped pen to avoid mixing them up with other players (handling tennis balls used by other players could be a possible source of transmitting infection). If you are struggling to purchase tennis balls we have a number of balls available that you can purchase at the reduced price of £10 a dozen. To buy a dozen balls (3 cans) please contact Jason Lockett on 07881650677 and arrange to collect them. On leaving the club please ensure both main gates and courts are locked. Hand sanitisers are provided by the main gate and on the courts and they should be used as often as possible. Anyone with symptoms of Coronavirus should under no circumstances should attempt to come near the club.
I am pleased that the restrictions on play are being relaxed but I regret that we are still unable to resume our social nights. Coaching with up to 6 people is now allowed and we are in discussions with Smash Tennis to determine when group coaching can safely be resumed. Please be assured that the safety of our members will always be our top priority. We will continue to follow Government and LTA advice. Hopefully we will soon be able to further release these restrictions and get back to normal social and club play. I hope you will enjoy playing on our new courts and above all stay safe and well.
