Alsager Tennis Club is proud to support Major Rebecca Parkinson, the daughter of our members Dave and Sue Parkinson, after she took up her duties this month in London commanding the troops guarding King Charles and the Royal palaces.
Growing up in Alsager, Becky was a Cranberry Junior and Alsager School pupil before joining the Army as a member of the Stafford-based 22nd Signal Regiment, and heading to Sandhurst for officer training.
With her latest posting, Becky has become the first female British officer to take up the role of Captain of the King's Guard. And, until, March 28, Becky will be leading the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace as well as being responsible for security at the Tower of London, St James Palace, and Windsor Palace.
Parents Dave and Sue, who both still live in Alsager, are immensely proud of Becky's achievements.
