Earlier today, Barnaby Taylor, Colin Stocker, Dawn Stocker and Karen Isbill took on a strong team from Stanmore.

The first pairings of Barnaby and Karen won their first set 6-0, but slipped to a 3-6 defeat in the second. Meanwhile Colin and Dawn were battling through a tough match against the number 2 Stanmore pair and after getting into a 4-2 lead, were taken to a tie break at 6-6. Colin and Dawn won the tiebreak 7-4 taking the first set. By this time the other parings had finished two sets and had to wait to play the same sex matches. The second set led to a result of 6-1 to Colin and Dawn.

The Mens and Ladies matches started after a few light refreshments. Both Blofield pairs knew that one more set would secure at least a draw. Barnaby and Colin got off to a shaky start, but soon recovered composure to win the first set 6-3. The opponents were tough to break and at one point Barnaby played a hot dog shot to win an important point, much to the delight of the onlooking spectators (all four of them!). Barnaby and Colin also took the second set 6-4. Meantime Dawn and Karen worked towards success winning both sets 6-3, 6-2.

Overall a very pleasing result.
