Despite the threat of rain, thunder and lightning, BlofieldTennis Club juniors managed to whip up a storm of their own when competing in this years Junior Club Championships. Dawn's anti-rain dance worked a treat and Blofield remained dry for the duration of the tournament, enabling it to be completed ahead of the bad weather.
Twenty four juniors played in various categories and the results were as follows:
Skills Winner - Alex Butcher (6yrs) Runner Up - Edward Boardman (6yrs)
Red Ball Winner - Emily Bensley (7yrs) Runner Up - Henry Humphrey (7yrs)
Orange Ball Winner - Reuben Circuit (9yrs). Runner Up - Bozh Stryzhenko (9yrs)
Full Ball Winner - Sviatoslav Strzhenko (15yrs) Runner Up - Noah Larkins (10yrs)
Thank You to:
- All the players for playing so well - and having fun
- All the parents, who helped umpire the matches,
- The coaches, Chris, Barnaby and Bella, who warmed up and supervised the events
- All the supporters who watched the matches from the comfort of chairs and rugs placed around the outside of the courts and for providing the food for tea, once play had finished. (Blake’s home made cake was delicious)
- These events don't run themselves, so a huge thank you to Dawn Stocker, for organising and running the tournament
It was great to see so many Juniors participate and to see the continued improvement in their tennis skills since last year.
