Burnley Tennis Club win First trophy of 2016

Burnley Tennis Club indoor winter league B team have won the division 2 title with 2 games remaining. Burnley B have played 13 and won all 13, the team of Jez Palmer, Scott Northey, Donna Livesey and Christine Holt have been in outstanding form all year and secured the title on Sunday after beating Parkwood A. 

Burnley C team look on track to take the runners up position in division 2 after they beat Whalley A on Sunday, the team of Steven Greenwood, Marley Byrne, Tiffany Deaville and Susan Brown have won every game this season apart from against their own B team

Burnley D team are on course to take the indoor division 3 title needing just 2 points from a possible 15 available to be crowned league champions, the team captained by Nick Holt have won 11 of their 12 games so far, their only loss was to their own E team who are looking like they will take the runners up cup.

Burnley F team who have been the clubs development team providing competitive opportunities to lots of players have had a great season winning some excellent games along the way

Burnley A had a great 4-1 win on Sunday against last year’s division 1 runners up Feniscowles A in a second verses third match, both teams were at full strength for the key fixture, Burnley team of Chris Rowell, Mark Rushton Woods, Elaine Varcoe and Jo Heywood have played some outstanding tennis this year and showed this with the 4-1 win, the win keeps up the pressure on Feniscowles who are second with Burnley third just half a point behind with 3 games remaining
