After recently winning Community Sports club of the year followed by Lancashire Tennis Club of the year for 2016 the club was more than happy with what they had achieved over the last couple of years, not only was this a fantastic achievement for Burnley Tennis Club but recognition for all the hard work the club puts in to provide tennis for everyone across the community to get more people playing the great game

County winners then automatically went through to the regional awards where Burnley Tennis Club representing Lancashire were up against the winners of all the other counties in the North Region and to the surprise of everyone Burnley were picked by a judging panel to be Regional Tennis Club of the year winners, this is an unbelievable achievement for a club that is going from strength to strength against some very strong candidates

The club have now gone through to the National finals; the winning club that will be crowned National Tennis Club of the year will attend a ceremony at the Wimbledon Championships on Tuesday 28th June

Paul Bennett Head of Region for the LTA North congratulated the club on the fantastic achievement and said it was a deserving award for everything that the club does to develop the sport of Tennis, Allison Lewis the Regional Tennis Participation Manager said it was excellent news and very well deserved  

Paul Bennett and Allison Lewis will travel to Burnley Tennis Club on Thursday 5th May to present the award to the club
