Saturday 17th September 2022 was a day to remember… a Finals Day feast of competitive tennis. All the finals from the 10Us through to the Men's Vets were played in great spirit and an abundance of skill.
15-year-old Mia Moore was the outstanding performer, winning three titles, including the Ladies' Singles.
An inspirational passion to win was also much in evidence as Laurence Costello edged past Christian Rowbotham in the Men's Singles final. The friendly intensity continued throughout the day under a brilliant blue sky. It was a real credit to everyone (finalists and spectators alike) who turned out to engage with the event.
Thank you to Richard, Tom and Ben for running the tournament, to all those who donated food for the barbecue and afternoon cakes, and to all the players who entered and played in the earlier rounds of competition. All of you should be extremely proud of your various contributions to a very special day at Caversham Park Tennis Club.
