2026 Club Tournament

Finals Day

Finals Day will be on Saturday 11th July 2026.

Closing date

The closing date for entries is 4th April 2026.

Entry fees for adult events

£2.50 per person per event. Fees can be paid by cash (in a labelled envelope in the postbox in the club house).

Doubles Partners

Entries can be with a partner or without. If no partner is named then partners will be randomly drawn. If there are an uneven number of players, or if there are different numbers of men and women in the mixed, then priority will be given by date entry is received. In the event that a partner cannot be found the entry fee will be refunded.

Balls

New LTA match approved balls should be provided for each match. These must be provided by players with the cost shared between players for each match. Club session balls cannot be used. Balls can be purchased from the club for £5.00 a tube. Balls will be provided for all finals matches.

Seeding

All adult categories of the tournaments will be seeded, with approximately half of the players given a seeding and drawn accordingly (final number of seeds dependant on number of entrants). The seeding will be determined by the Tournament Organiser and based on World Tennis Number (WTN), last year’s tournament, team results and box leagues.

Results

The winner of the match must write the result on the notice board in the club and email the tournament organiser (duncanmunro@live.co.uk) with the result.

Courts

Matches should be arranged to avoid the club sessions (see booking calendar).

Un-played / cancelled matches

All players are responsible for arranging matches using the contact details provided. Where matches are not played by the dates given, the tournament organiser will either disqualify one of the parties if there is clear evidence that reasonable endeavours haven’t been made to play the match. Alternatively the outcome will be decided by coin toss. Players unable to play matches due to injury must withdraw. Players must only enter the tournament if they are able to play on Finals Day. If players are unable to play on Finals Day they must notify the tournament organiser and withdraw from the tournament.

Umpiring

The matches will all be self-umpired (including the final) and, in the event of a dispute, it is the players responsibility to resolve it at the time. A tournament referee will be chosen for Finals Day.

Competition format

For singles events with more than 16 entries the format will be knock-out with a runners-up plate competition for those who lose their first match. For singles events with fewer entrants a round robin format will be used to determine semi-finalists.

The adult matches will be the best-of-3-sets with the third set played as a championship tie-break (first to 10 points, 2 clear). If all players agree at the start of the match, the third set can be played as a full set. All finals except vets will be played as 3 full sets.

Juniors

The junior categories will be decided based on number of entries in the age groups and format will be based on standard format for the age group.
