Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Club Championships! As the barbecue sizzled and smoked, spectators, supporters and parents enjoyed some enthralling, closely contested matches throughout the perfect late summer afternoon. 

Christian Rowbotham claimed the men’s singles title with an impressive victory over Logan Turner, while Celine Loader secured the ladies’ singles title after seeing off a spirited challenge from Ali Glover.

Christian competed in three finals altogether, adding the Mixed Doubles title (with Nikki Botterill) and the Mens Doubles title (with Logan Turner) to his trophy haul for the day. Following their close encounter on the singles court, Celine and Ali teamed up for the Ladies Doubles and prevailed against Elaine Cheng and Jade Turner.

Other winners on the day were: Katja Bailey (Ladies Vets Singles), Lucas Haines (18U Open Singles), Simion Kacesov (16U Boys Singles & 14U Open Singles), Dhriti Nayini (16U Girls Singles), and Arabella Yu (12U Open Singles).

Many thanks to everyone who took part, came to watch, contributed to the Bake Sale or helped out in any other way. Thank you in particular to Richard for running the tournament. And well done to all the players who entered and played in the earlier rounds of the competition.
