We have two excellent floodlit all weather courts, a clubhouse and around 120 members. Cerney Lakes is a small tennis club with a big heart.
Players of all abilities are encouraged, we embrace the ‘tennis for all’ ethos emphasised by our founding members.
Our league results showcase that competitive tennis is also taken seriously. The club has men’s and women’s teams in both the Gloucestershire summer and winter league. We have built a solid relationship with an independent LTA tennis coach. Please see Adult Coaching page for further details.
Juniors are well catered for and this year we are continuing to offer free membership for juniors. Having a dedicated junior co-ordinator helps us bring together families and the opportunity for professional coaching at a young age.
Mostly we have a lot of fun at our roll up sessions and enjoy the tennis, why not come along see for yourself and join in!
History of the club
The tennis club was established in the spring of 1989, deriving its name ‘Cerney Lakes’ from the village it is located in South Cerney, and the adjoining smaller Cerney Wick.
The two all weather tennis courts were built in 1990 followed by the clubhouse in 1992 and the floodlights installed in 2019.
Our ethos was to provide friendly community tennis for local people of all abilities and this remains the same today.
As a small, friendly club with about 130 adult and 20 junior members, we're always happy to welcome new junior and adult players of all abilities. Click on "About Membership" to the right for lists of membership benefits and all currently available membership packages. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
