Safeguarding Communication Letter
(For all members and parents/guardians of under 18s)
Dear Member,
Welcome to Cottingham Lawn Tennis Club. We are delighted to have you as part of our tennis community and hope you enjoy everything our club has to offer.
At Cottingham Lawn Tennis Club, we take the welfare and safety of all our members—especially children and young people—very seriously. Our goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment where everyone can enjoy tennis, feel respected, and have fun.
We follow the LTA’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and Standards for Tennismark Clubs, which set out clear guidelines for protecting children and adults at risk. All our coaches, volunteers, and staff members are committed to ensuring that safeguarding is a shared responsibility across our community.
If you ever have a concern, need advice, or wish to talk to someone confidentially about a safeguarding or welfare matter (no matter how small it may seem), please contact our Club Welfare Officers:
Club Welfare Officers:
- Anne Trynka – Email: cltcwelfare@gmail.com
- Sarah Leaf – Email: cltcwelfare@gmail.com
Alternatively, you can also reach out directly to the LTA Safeguarding Team via:
- Email: safeguarding@lta.org.uk
- Emergency contact: If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact the police (999) or children’s social care.
Copies of our Safeguarding Policy, Codes of Conduct, and Reporting Procedures are available on our club noticeboard and website.
We encourage all players, parents, and carers to familiarise themselves with these documents and to speak up if something doesn’t feel right. By working together, we can ensure Cottingham Lawn Tennis Club remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone to play and thrive.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain our commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all members.
Warm regards,
The Committee
