FAQs

When are the courts open?

Courts are open every day from 9am, closing time may vary seasonally.

You can book up to 7 days in advance.

Same-day booking available until 2pm.

What can I play there?

The facility has lines for tennis, netball and football, as requested in the village survey. The facility will be set up for both racquet sports and netball, one court each, on a daily basis.  Only one court will be booked at a time, so you will simply choose the court set up for your chosen sport when you arrive. If you wish to play a different sport in the facility, please contact the clerk on: sports@cuxtonparish.gov.uk.

How many people can play?

A standard 1-hour session permits up to 4 people into the facility and costs from £5.

If you would like to make a team booking, please contact the clerk on: sports@cuxtonparish.gov.uk.

Fees are £20 per hour for 5 to 15 people,  and £40 per hour for 15+ people.

How do I book the facility?

You will need an LTA account (Lawn Tennis Association) set up, but will only have to do this the first time, after that you will simply view the booking sheet, click on your chosen time slot and following the booking instructions.

Once I have booked my court, how do I get access?

Once you have booked your court, you will receive a booking confirmation email.

Your booking confirmation will include a 4-digit gate code that you should enter on the keypad at the gate. It is always useful to have your booking confirmation handy for inspection purposes.

I haven’t received confirmation of my booking or my gate access code. What should I do?

The gate access code is provided within your confirmation email. Please check the junk folder of the email account provided when you signed up.

Alternatively, please log into your Clubspark account and check your bookings where you will see the details of your booking, alongside the gate access code.

If you still cannot find your confirmation email or gate access code, please email: sports@cuxtonparish.gov.uk in advance of your booking.

What do I do if my PIN code doesn’t work?

Check your booking is on the correct day and time.

Are you entering the code within your allocated booking time? (No more than 10 minutes before or after your booked session).

If you have followed all these steps and are still unable to open the gate please email: sports@cuxtonparish.gov.uk for further advice.

Can I make a booking for coaching/ club purposes?

If you would like to use the facility for coaching or club use, please contact: sports@cuxtonparish.gov.uk.

What if I need the floodlights on?

We set the floodlights to come on automatically for bookings made at low light times. Lights will come on 15 mins before the booked session and remain on for 15 mins after the session (to allow for departures). There is a small extra charge (£1) for this.

Can I hire equipment?

Nets / goals will be provided, but customers must supply their own balls / racquets.

How do I cancel a booking?

Bookings can be cancelled via your email confirmation or via your profile once logged into ClubSpark.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the court booking will not be eligible for a refund or transfer.

No cash refunds will be given. Refunds will be applied to the card which was used at the time of booking (it may take up to 10 working days for this refund to show on the payment method.

Why will residents have to pay a fee to use the tennis courts?

Tennis court maintenance costs need to be managed carefully to ensure the facilities are sustainable for the future. The income from booking fees will contribute towards the maintenance and future investment into the site. The council will not make a profit on this facility, all fees will be reinvested.

Can residents get a discounted fee?

Aside from the listing on the LTA website, which is part of the booking system, there are no plans to advertise the facility externally, to ensure that residents get priority use. As such the fees have been set as low as possible.  There is also currently no reliable way for the Parish Council to prove residency of users. If this changes however, the Parish Council will review the situation to ensure residents always get the best possible arrangements.

Can users ride bicycles in the facility?

No - the new surface is meant for ball sports only, so no bicycles, skateboards, go karts etc are allowed. Many residents already use the large hardstanding area just outside the courts for cycling practice or, for more able riders, the bike track is available.
