Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I have never played tennis or PIckleball before / I have not played in a long time. Should I attend club sessions?

Yes. Our club sessions are for any LGBTQIA+ people regardless of their experience of playing tennis or pickleball. Come along and have some fun. Our super coaches, Anton and Lucas in Tennis and Fabian and Ciarán in Pickleball, will support and guide us through some fun games, some skills development, and help ensure that we can all take part.

I have not done much exercise recently / I have a health condition. Should I take part?

We recommend that if you do not exercise regularly or have a health condition, that you contact your doctor and take some advice. This form from the LTA will be helpful for determining your readiness for club sessions. Please also let the coach know when you attend a session. Form: https://shorturl.at/mJX29

Do I need to be a member of Sports and Active Health @ Unvieristy of Dundee (Tennis) or  Leisure & Culture (Pickleball) or otherwise pay for this session?

There is no charge for club sessions and you do not need to be a member of Sports and Active Health (tennis) or Leisure and Culture (pickleball) to attend.  This is due to the fantastic support from Sports and Active Health @ Univeristy of Dundee and Leisure and Sport @ Leisure and Culture Dundee for getting the Dundee Deuces up and running – for which we are grateful.  As a result our club sessions are free, so please come along and play some tennis and pickleball with LGBTQIA+ people and allies.

Are there gender neutral changing rooms at Sports and Active Health at the Unviersity of Dundee?

There is a gender neutral changing space at Sports and Active Health at the University of Dundee with single occupancy. If in high demand, there may be a queue.

Where should I go on the day?

For Tennis: please come straight to the tennis courts which are shown on the map below and can be found between the Student Union Building, the back of Duncan of Jordanstone and the student Belmont residences.

For Pickleball: please go to the reception desk and you will be directed to the sports hall.

Are my friends/allies welcome?

Allies are welcome. Anyone willing to take part positively, be supportive of LGBTQIA+ people, and be inclusive is welcome.

Is there parking at Sports and Active Health?

There is limited parking at Sports and Active Health. Please go to reception and request a car parking pass. You will need to leave a form of ID with SPAH reception which will be returned when you return the car parking pass. The nearest public carpark is on Perth Road, between Springfield and Miller's Wynd.

Are the club sessions on every week?

Yes. We will be playing tennis at Sports and Active Health most Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm.  And Pickleball at St Paul's Swim and Sports Centre every Thursday from 7pm to 8pm.

We'd love for you to come along and join in.

In the event of inclement weather, we may have to cancel tennis, as it is outdoors.  So please check out and follow us on social media for updates.
