Terry started playing tennis at the age of 12 and was Bedfordshire County Champion on 9 occasions and also County Tennis Captain for Bedfordshire and Durham for 12 years. He also represented Bedfordshire at squash, football and under 18 cricket.

Terry has been a fully qualified Professional
Tennis Coach for over 50 years and for 25 of those years he worked part time for the LTA tutoring coaches courses from the elementary courses up to the full Professional award. He has coached many county and international players over the years.
