Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Policy

It is important that all Children and Adults at Risk are able to enjoy tennis at our facilities in a safe and healthy environment.

Everyone who is involved in tennis at Langside Sports Club has a shared responsibility to support this by promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk.

Langside Sports Club is managed by a group of volunteers and, as we are an umanned club with no staff on the premises, we rely on the help of everyone using our facilities to ensure the safety of all.

Anne Greer is the designated welfare officer for Langside Sports Club and can be contacted at langsidescwelfare@gmail.com or on 07757391513 if you have any questions or concerns about safeguarding at our club.

All safeguarding reports are treated in the strictest confidence and in accordance with relevant club policies.
Members should also know that all club coaches and welfare officers are trained in identifying safeguarding issues and will know what to do if approached by a member with a concern.

Remember - if you think someone is at immediate risk of harm dial 999

Child Supervision

All children under the age of 12 attending our club courts outside of coaching programmes and other organised club activities should be supervised by a parent or known adult.

Whilst The Club fully accepts the NSPCC guidance that all under 13 years be supervised in relation to domestic situations, the club has agreed that children aged 12 and over will be permitted to play unaccompanied BUT the responsibility will remain with their parents/carers to ensure that their child is able to respond to emergencies and situations and has sufficient emotional maturity to attend the venue unaccompanied.
