Singles Box League
The leagues are a great way for members to meet and play singles tennis against others of similar ability.

Round Nine - Spring 2025 - The results are in!

Box 1:  Congratulations to Rhys!  In a tight finish he just beat George by 3 points!  Simon finishes in third.  Rhys topped the table once before, in December 2023, but now there is a silver cup that will adorn his mantlepiece if Del is happy to relinquish it!  (Rhys, you are not allowed to get your name or a welsh dragon engraved on it)

Box 2:  Another close finish with a great win for John! 
Just 2 points ahead of Esther and Josh in equal second place!  No cup for you John but I'm sure Rhys will buy you a pint and bring his cup along to show you!

Box 3:  A couple of runaway winners here with Jeff just pinching the title from Georgie.  Euan was in a strong third place, and as a prize for you Euan I promise to spell your name correctly in the next round.

Results for the Third Singles Leagues of 2024...  

Wow! What a finish!!   I'm delighted to say that after a hard battle in Box 1, and some late challenges, with only 6 points separating the top 5 players, the final results are..... drum roll.....

Box 1  -  WINNER and Round 8 Champion is DEL with 62 points!
Runner up only 2 points behind is SIMON with 60 points.  Joint Third place goes to George and Rich on 58 points.  Del, I will arrange with you (and the press) a time at the club to hand over the Cup! Prepare your speech!

Box 2  -  Winner with a magnificent 37 points is Dale
Runner up with 30 points is Clive

Box 3  -  Winner with a strong 43 points is Josh
Runner up with an excellent 34 is Esther

Box 1
Well done Mark for storming it again! With a massive 73 points (out of a possible 90!).   
And what a titanic battle for second place with George just sneaking it from Del! 

Box 2
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Rhys won (he would have been insufferable if he hadn't!!) with a strong 71 points but Clyde took it to the final game and ended only 5 points behind with 65. The rest of us in Box 2 will be pleased to see them go up!... oh but hang on, who will replace them from Box 3? Oh gawd!...

And another close one with Dale just stealing the number one spot from Francesco by a single point to end with 67 and 66 respectively! Well done to everyone else in this box, it was a real tough set of matches!

There will be a cup presentation ceremony for Mark P just as soon as I have got a bit of engraving done, organised a photographer and sorted the  press release!

Results for the first Singles Leagues of 2024... 
Congratulations to Mark Parker for storming through every match in Box 1 with a massive 82 points! With an average of 11.7 is a new record for Box 1 (Rhys got a brilliant 11.2 last round).  Well done to Del and George too for coming second and third!

And in Box 2 we had another runaway champion in Clyde with 81 points and Jayne a comfortable second.

Results for the last leagues of 2023:
Congratulations to Rhys for storming the Box 1 with a massive 79 points! The cup is in the post Rhys (but Ledbury postal service is not the best so it'll probably end up on someone else's doorstep!)!  Well done to Del and Simon too for coming second and third!

And in Box 2 we had a runaway champion in Mark with George M a comfortable second. The prize money is also in the post for you Mark!

The Summer 2023 Leagues have come to a thrilling conclusion...  and the winners are...
Box 1  Simon wins with a magnificent 55 points, Del is runner up only one point behind with 54, Rhys is third after trying to cram all his games in this last week!

Box 2  Rich has smashed it with an incredible 98 points, Damian is a worthy runner up with 80 points, Catherine came third (but only just I might add!)

It is brilliant to see so many matches played, in fact we managed to play 53 matches between us! That's 790 games!

The final results for the 2023 Spring Leagues are:
Box 1:   Champion - Simon Westley with a magnificent 50 points, Runner-up - Del Partridge close behind Simon with 45 points
Box 2:  Champion - Paul White with a brilliant 50 points, Runner-up - George Richards who just sneaked above the rest of us with 31 points
Box 3:  Champion - Damian Evans with a solid 32 points, Runner-up - Rich who managed 25 points from only 2 games!

Box 1:   Congratulations to Simon who can proudly stand on the top step of the podium after winning box league 1! 
Box 2:  The second step is a very well deserved place for Rhys who took box league 2 by storm!
