Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance.

You can book from our website which is hosted by the LTA ClubSpark booking system, or via the LTA website: search and book a court

If you are a member, please make sure you log in using the LTA/ClubSpark details you used to set up your membership in order to book courts for free.  You should see an booking option for members, please make sure you select that option when booking otherwise you may be charged.

You can also book on your phone via the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) ClubSpark Booker app ( 'ClubSpark Booker' available on iPhone and Android platforms). Search for ‘Newlands Park Community Tennis Centre’ on the app and follow instructions.

‘Pay and play’ for non-members will cost £6/hour during peak times. You need to register with the LTA to book, but registration is free.

Why are you charging for using the courts?

Maintaining this great community asset for the long term will require ongoing revenue generation and reinvestment. Charging will ensure that funds are available to guarantee long-term viability of the courts.

How and when can I access the courts for free?

Free sessions will be available every day, but they must be booked. Free session times will vary but will usually be in late afternoon (to maximise use by school age children and young people).

Where can I park my bike?

There are bike racks next to the Dandelion cafe, opposite the entrance to the courts. Please do not bring your bikes into the courts.

Are footballs allowed?

No, the courts are for tennis and tennis training activities only.

How has the refurbishment been funded?

In April 2021, a group (formed by some of the Friends of Newlands Park committee) began work on a major refurbishment plan. From July 2021, we worked with People Make Glasgow Communities and campaigned for the courts’ management to be transferred to a community organisation — aiming to obtain IPG6 developer contributions (which, we estimated, would take three years). Over summer 2022, we set up a Community Interest Company (NPCTC) and wrote a business plan. In tandem, we realised that the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation’s Park Tennis Project might be an alternative and faster source of funding. We weren’t immediately prioritised, but our business plan was persuasive and, in late 2022, secured a grant of £146,000 to cover the cost of refurbishment. Thanks are due to People Make Glasgow Communities, the Lawn Tennis Association, Tennis Scotland and Glasgow City Council for their ongoing support.
