NPCTC announce a major new sponsorship agreement with Corum Shawlands

Newlands Park Community Tennis Centre (NPCTC) is delighted to announce that it has agreed a sponsorship deal with local estate agency Corum enabling it to continue to deliver free, affordable and accessible tennis to the local community.

Corum’s sponsorship is confirmed for three years and will see Corum’s logo appear on the NPCTC courts and website.

Jamie MacDonald, Chair of NPCTC, said of the announcement, ‘We are thrilled that Corum has chosen to generously support our activity at NPCTC. We are reliant on such partnerships to be able to deliver our free classes to schools and local children as well as much of the outreach work we are doing to help break down the barriers to taking part in sport. Alastair lives locally, uses the park regularly and really understands the value the courts bring to it.’

Alastair Reid, Partner at Corum Shawlands said, "It's great to see Newlands Park Community Tennis Centre come to life; it's such a positive initiative that will really benefit the local area. Here at Corum, we are proud to get involved and play our part as a sponsor. For us, fostering great community spirit and supporting ambitious projects like this are so important."

The partnership will help fund much of NPCTC’s ongoing coaching programme and outreach work. To date, NPCTC has offered free social tennis classes to local people, free coaching classes for children, visited local schools to introduce tennis and hosted local charitable organisations such as Glasgow Association for Mental Health, Neighbourhood Networks, Glasgow Ansar, Pride in tennis and the Weegie Whackers (Glasgow’s LGBTQ+ Tennis Club).
