We are thrilled to announce that Quarry Bank Tennis Club is a Staffordshire Development Hub.

Background

Since the start of 2025 The Prosser Tennis Academy have been working closely with Staffordshire County Tennis to bridge the gap between club and county-level players, focusing on increasing playing opportunities for juniors.

The success of The Prosser Tennis Academy junior programme has earned Quarry Bank recognition from Staffordshire County Tennis, and our club was selected as one of only six in the county to be a Development Hub (the only one currently in the South). This initiative focuses on nurturing players who demonstrate potential, grit, passion, and a strong work ethic.

This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our players and coaches. It’s humbling to know that we have the opportunity to support our juniors— whether that leads to county representation, or strengthens our junior and adult teams in the future.

A key aspect of the Hub is that the county are now undertaking talent identification through both competitive tournaments (currently on-going) and Development coaching programmes, giving players additional opportunities to progress with their tennis.

The Opportunity

Our squads are attracting strong interest from players at QB and other local clubs who are ready for the “next step” in this invitation-only development programme.

The programme will focus on:

• Strength and conditioning
• Advanced technical and tactical skills
• Match play practice
• Parent Workshops delivered to support parents with entering external competitions, understanding etiquette, managing expectations, and supporting player development
