Coaching Policy
Retford Tennis Club Coaching Programme Policy
At Retford Tennis Club, we are committed to delivering a high-quality, enjoyable coaching experience for all
participants. Please read the following policy, which outlines how our coaching programme operates.
1. Coaching Sessions Overview
• Our coaching sessions are designed to be inclusive, supportive, and fun for players of all abilities.
• All sessions are led by qualified coaches and run according to the published schedule, unless
otherwise communicated.
2. Booking & Attendance
• Coaching sessions must be booked in advance via our online booking system.
• Please arrive promptly and be ready to play at the scheduled start time.
• If you are unable to attend, please notify the club or your coach as soon as possible.
3. Wet Weather Policy
• Tennis is an outdoor sport and, as such, is subject to the unpredictability of British weather.
• If a coaching session is started then no credits or refunds will be issued—even if the weather changes
and the session has to be stopped early.
• If a session is cancelled by the coach before the start time due to adverse weather or unsafe
conditions, a credit will be issued to your account. This credit can be used towards a future coaching
session.
• The decision to cancel or proceed rests solely with the coach, based on their assessment of safety and
playability.
4. Communication
• Any cancellations prior to the session will be communicated as soon as possible via email or text.
Please select allow communications when prompted at any time by clubspark to ensure you receive
communication.
• Please ensure your contact details are up to date to receive timely notifications.
5. Health & Safety
• All players should wear appropriate footwear and bring suitable clothing for changing weather.
• If you have any medical conditions or injuries, please inform your coach before the session.
6. Emergency Contact Information
• For the safety and wellbeing of all participants, it is essential that up-to-date emergency contact
information is provided at the time of booking.
• This information must be kept current. If your contact details or emergency contact change, please
inform the club or update your details in the booking system immediately.
• In the event of an emergency during a session, coaches will use the provided emergency contact
details.
7. General Conduct
• We expect all participants to treat each other, coaches, and club facilities with respect.
• Any concerns or feedback can be directed to the coaching team or the club committee at
