Under near-cloudless skies, U10 boys from five counties battled it out over the weekend of 20/21 May for a chance to progress into the regional rounds of the LTA County Cup.  Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club played host to the amazing skills of these young players, watched by supportive parents and coaches. 

These LTA County Cup Qualifier events always bring a buzz to the courts.  Competitive spirit was evident across the weekend, and it was always underpinned by friendly sportsmanship between the teams.  A real credit to the boys and the coaching teams.

One team had to win, and on this occasion it was the U10 boys of Berkshire who came out on top.  The picture shows the successful team after receiving their medals from LTA referee Jenny Sayer.  These competitions are decided by fine margins, and all of the team showed skill, enthusiasm and stamina to play such impressive tennis throughout the two-day competition.
