Newsletter June 2023

On June 25th from midday to 4:00pm there will be a garden party on the memorial park. Organised by
the Town Council, this was previously known as the Fun Day and held on the Burgage. We have
been invited to have a stall, and Jason will be on hand to let people have a go at playing tennis.
Please come along to support us and join in all the other activities.

We will be trialling a new category of membership from September, Junior Coaching. This will allow
the juniors who are being coached to become members. We are looking at giving them a few gifts
including a T-shirt and will provide a junior social session supervised by On The Ball. This may
include a box league. To enable junior member to play outside coaching sessions they will be able to
have a non-member parent / grandparent on court to hit balls with.  Following this trial, we will hold a
review and look at making the new membership categories a permanent change. We're still working
on the details, and we'll keep you informed.

We have recently moved matches back to Thursday evenings. As this has reduced the number of
social play sessions on Thursdays, we propose to move the adult social session from Thursdays to
Fridays. We will initially book out two courts on Fridays from 6pm, starting from 30 th June.

We have also been asked about social events and plan to have a social evening at The Moon, Morton
early in October on a Friday night.

You may know that the Monday / Friday morning players occasionally hold a fuddle which they
arrange amongst themselves. Please feel free to arrange similar events where members provide
food and drink to share during or after the evening social sessions.
