St John's Tennis Club plays in both the Kent and Maidstone Leagues and have a number of teams to give more people an opportunity to play competitive tennis against different clubs.

CLUB TOURNAMENTS

Open Tournament

St John's holds an Open Tournament every spring/summer. The Finals is usually mid-July.

Betty Jenkins Tournament

This tournament, named in honour of a former long-serving tennis coach at St John's, takes place every summer on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Handicap Tournament

This usually starts in the Autumn and runs through the winter. 

TENNIS LADDERS

We are pleased to introduce a new club singles ladder open to all players. It’s open to players of all ages and abilities and runs through a simple, fun and free app called “Sportch”. Doubles ladders will be introduced soon.

The competition and match formats are very flexible, meaning it will fit well into any schedule. You can join or leave at any point, play as much or as little as you want or take breaks as required.

How to join

• Download the free Sportch app from your app store (https://sportch.page.link/app).
• Open the app and tap Sign Up
• During registration ensure to:
  • Select ‘our club’ as your club by tapping the “Link Club” button
  • Set your ability level using the slider
• You’re done and ready to play

After signing up, you will be placed in a zone of 5 players based on ability… send them a match-request to get started! Good luck!
